Louis E. DeFrate, ScD, visits the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

Dr. Louis DeFrate visited the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery from March 6-8, 2017.  During his visit, he toured the Department’s labs and research centers, presented at the robotics lab meeting, presented at the Anatomic ACL Research meeting, and presented at Orthopaedic Grand Rounds. 

Dr. DeFrate made three separate presentations during his visit. At the Robotics Lab meeting, he presented “In vivo function of the meniscus.” During the Anatomic ACL Research meeting, he presented “Altered cartilage mechanics after ACL injury.” At Grand Rounds, he present “Joint Injury and Cartilage Health: An in vivo biomechanical approach.”

Dr. DeFrate is the Frank H. Bassett III, MD Associate Professor, Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Material Science, and Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University School of Medicine.
