Fourth Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellow Research Day

The fourth Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellow Research Day was held on Wednesday June 6, 2018, in the LHAS auditorium in Montefiore Hospital. Each of the five sports medicine fellows presented exciting research projects. 

Darren L. Johnson, MD (Sports Med '93), served as moderator and judge of the fellow presentations at the Sports Medicine Fellow Research Day.  Andrew Sheean, MD, was selected as the winner for his presentation “Intra-operative Quantitative Pivot Shift (iQPS) Measurement is Feasible and Demonstrates Improvement of Pivot Shift After ACL Reconstruction.”  Dr. Sheean received a certificate and $500 prize from the alumni association. 

Dr. Johnson also served as Grand Rounds Visiting Professor.  Dr. Johnson is the Professor and Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Director of Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky School of Medicine.  Dr. Johnson’s presentation at Grand Rounds was “ACL Injury and Surgery: What I have Learned in 25 Years!”.
